We all believe in aliens right?
But why are they always depicted as green and slimy? What are the chances that there is actually another human race in a different galaxy. Would we still consider them aliens?

I would still call them aliens. Then enslave them

I'm sure there are many humanoid civilisations in THIS galaxy. Its not that hard to imagine they might be humanoid. All planets in the known universe are round... maybe the humanoid form is the standard form for intelligence. Its pretty practical after all.

Good questions, good question, but the Royal Society just met to discuss the idea that "aliens" are probably already here...

i don't remember any green slimy aliens in star trek, star wars (except jabba), babylon 5, or stargate...

Think how much life on this planet varies .. sure it could vary even more on a planet which has a slightly different environment.

"There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on earth."
More than likely there is life outside of earth. Humankind would have to be either arrogant and or naive to believe otherwise! Well... unless you are an inbred, narrow minded Republican.

It would be cool to find another Human race that was just as technically advanced as we are. Like our voyager satellite just happens to cross paths with there satellite.

Because the environmental, historical and evolutionary circumstances that led us to evolve as we are now are unique to this planet. Had the dinosaurs not been wiped out, the "dominant" species could be reptilian.

But what if there were planets out the that had the same type of historical and evolutionary circumstances?
- harlequino0
Ok, sure why not. We're talking about aliens, afterall.
But conditions would have to be pretty exact.- Pretty exact for other forms of life that may resemble humans anyway.utopian

So your saying there could be human looking aliens with like dinosaur legs or arms or heads or something? Like a hybrid?

If the universe is infinite. Then there's infinite variability. Just probably isn't simultaneous.
- The Multiverse Theory states that the universe is not infinite. In fact, galaries are consuming one another.mynameisdave

No. I'm saying if you're looking for the possibility of a planet with more humans, you should be a looking at a similar chain of events.
We are mammals, so look at what is believed to be the chain of events up until now. You'd need something exactly like that to happen elsewhere. One of the reasons aliens are depicted as reptilian or green/slimy, is that from a sci-fi persepctive, a planet's species could evolve that way, were early reptiles to dominate the environment.
