Can someone offer a good, intelligent, opinion or definition on what formless might look like?

Imagined space?
Are you trying to define formless strictly through Euclidean geometry? Perhaps at points of heightened energy in a Riemannian geometric system an object could approach formless as defined in Euclidean geometry while still "existing".
- can you explain a little more about formless in Euclidean geometry?********

something ever changing and random...like a graph of computer computations?
- I believe there is no such thing as random. Just a term used to easily explain that which we cannot or have not calculated.********
- nope random is real look it up- use integers.doesnotexist
- We may not be able to demonstrate random, but that doesn't mean that it is non-existant.ismith

i had thought that people deal with form all the time in their respective design practices that imagining the opposite could be applied.
What also comes to mind is "form follows function"

Symbols are what you want, by the way. They are formless until represented while possessing the same characteristics. Head over to Rizzoli and see if they have any books by Christian Normberd-Schulz, they should have a couple of his books (they published two) and those might have some inspiring words even if the rest seems like existential architecture jargon.
- none of Christian Normberd Schulz books turned up on Rizzoli********
- Ah shit two typos in one word; it's Norberg-Schulz. I'm surprised Rizzoli didn't have anything. Try with the right name? Sorry about that.ismith
- name? Sorry about that. There may be some previews here: http://books.google.…ismith
- Urban Center Books might have something too, but I didn't find any on their site... a lot is out of printismith
- Interesting that the formless symbol you mentioned is a reference to Hindu?********

a black hole has only three independent physical properties: mass, charge, and angular momentum
therefore, with no length, width, height etc. they could be considered formless.
They are observable, however as the massive gravitational pull is enough to bend light around them.
