What is wrong with 'ghey's' having civil unions which allows them the same rights for tax breaks as a married couple?
I bet he ghey's are allowed to marry in the traditional sense then the next thing down the road will be someone that wants to marry an animal or a child for the same exact reasons.
- It's spelled "gay" by the way.********

What I find odd is strict catholics are conservative, they have to be to be against masturbation, pre-marital sex, homosexuality, condoms etc. Conservative people also generally want governments to stay out of their business. UNTIL it gets into their core beliefs regarding sex. Then they are all about government stepping in to define the rules in their vision.
And if you are catholic and don't define your beliefs by what the vatican says, why the hell are you defining yourself as a catholic?
- of they need their investment bank floated for a few months.airey

Although the institution of marriage pre-dates reliable recorded history, many cultures have legends concerning the origins of marriage. The way in which a marriage is conducted has changed over time, as has the institution itself.
One of the oldest known and recorded marriage laws is discerned from Hammurabi's Code, enacted in ancient Mesopotamia (widely considered as the cradle of civilization). The legal institution of marriage and its rules and ramifications have changed over time depending on the culture or demographic of the time.[19]
Various cultures have had their own theories on the origin of marriage. One example may lie in a man's need for assurance as to paternity of his children. He might therefore be willing to pay a bride price or provide for a woman in exchange for exclusive sexual access.[20] Legitimacy is the consequence of this transaction rather than its motivation. In Comanche society, married women work harder, lose sexual freedom, and do not seem to obtain any benefit from marriage.[21] But nubile women are a source of jealousy and strife in the tribe, so they are given little choice other than to get married. "In almost all societies, access to women is institutionalized in some way so as to moderate the intensity of this competition."[22] In English common law, a marriage was a voluntary contract by a man and a woman, in which by agreement they choose to become husband and wife.[23] Edvard Westermarck proposed that "the institution of marriage has probably developed out of a primeval habit".

Unless they're religious, I don't understand why anyone would want to get married.
Tax breaks / shared bank account is sensible - I reckon civil partnerships should be available for straights and gays.

Religion is your crutch, weakness is your vehicle.
Fuck whomever you choose in your own time, I couldn't care less. Don't rub your propaganda in my face and we'll get along fine.
