I just saw Lauren Hill on the 6th at the Aragon ballroom..
i loved seeing her live and it was an *interesting* experience.the show had the tempo of a ska song. & you felt that she was speeding through the set as if it were an annoyance. none of the songs kept its original form and mostly i believe the crowd was wanting hip hop.. we got something that sounded like metal reggae fuse (which should have been great). This was like going to see a star wars film in the style of Victorianism; still cool to see but we're here to see some sci fi.
I'm not really complaining about show i had an excellent time. more reflecting on it.
as an opening, Mos Def bombed it without doubt.

Kyuss Lives. Basically 3/4 of Kyuss, had reservations before going in, but as soon as they opened with Spaceship Landing my face was stuck in a cheshire grin. Absolutely amazing.

asking alexandria, papa roach, and shinedown. about four hours between the three of them. sound was great throughout, the headliner got the better light show, which was pretty amazing.
