The brand doesn't really matter for your purposes, just get the cheapest thing you can. I'm sure you can get a perfectly good 16" laptop with like 3 gig of ram for $500 at futureshop. You really don't need to spend anymore than that.

i think dell will have what you need. - though you might consider vmware fusion even though your initial post was against it.

well bootcamp and VMfusion/Parallels are completely different things
- < good point - vmware/parallels can easily be added any time and no need to restart to switch to Win/OS of your choice.bulletfactory

I have to fourth the notion of using Parallels. You don't have to reboot and it's about $80 + cost of Windows.
