How much White Space is necessary for a website?
QBNr's have helped a lot with the design of Escape into Life and we recently had someone say that the site needed more white space.
My question to QBN is:
Does the site feel cluttered? Does it need more white space?
A followup question would be:
What specific things would you recommend to create white space on Escape into Life?

I think the amount of white space is definitely enough. I'd lighten the page background a touch as it seems a little heavy and detracts from the images.

Some white, maybe?
Just kidding. I hope you're not starting this thread because of one person's comment, because that would be ridiculous. The site is wide open already.

there is plenty of space. i might tighten some areas even. (white space is about contrast between cluttered and uncluttered)
Now, the contrast of the ESCAPE INTO LIFE header is another story

all that clutter for that tiny image? lolz

I think the relationship of elements, and hierarchy needs more work than a sense of whitespace.

it's just an excuse to post your blog huh? j/k
Overall, it looks good. I wonder what it would look if everything was a bit smaller. More like formfiftyfive.com
- This is what the development team is doing next. I'm going to see if we can scale down the images, ie thumbnails and images down the center of home pagelethebashar

it looks really nice- good start. The vertical spacing could be pulled much tighter I feel. Would help bring everything together, it looks a bit scattered now.
- since you're relying on a nice grid system, the white space on the L and R is good.doesnotexist

well, you might not even need the white spaces there.
besides the typefaces like etype said, i also think the rest is more then fine.

i think the horizontal lines are way too heave and nothing in the page contrasts good.

needs more content

I don't think you should have a fixed height white box for the story intro text. The most natural is to just have consistent padding above and below the text.

White space is the best!

Okay, thank you everyone. These responses are scattered, meaning, they touch on a lot of different things, some related to my question and others new critques, but that's okay, I'm going to take this info to the development team and see what we come up with.
Thank you!
