there is really nothing to see* only endless things to do... that said the snow is coming, you could hit the mountains... if you are hardcore you can surf in the morning (psychos) if you miss the weather to do either of those i guess it would be best to know when you are here so that you can plan. are you into concerts/live shows? museums? maybe you are after my heart and want to rent a motorcycle (right down the street, large selection) and hit the canyons for a few hours. opportunities: endless. there is always something downtown, in hollywood, at staples, or nokia as well so it's really up to you

The Edison downtown has gotten plenty trendy, but it's still a site to behold. It's a decent place to grab a sip of absynthe form the green fairy as well.

If you have a Twitter account, follow Koji (Korean BBQ Burrito trucks headed up by a Cordon Bleu grad who hailed from LA's Koreatown) and see where they stop. It'll be a long line, but it's well worth the wait, and nothing could be more definitive of new authentic LA.
- make sure to try the kimchi quesadilla, it's amazingscarabin

This article actually does a good sampling of authentic Mexican spots:

Also, check out any of the museums (Getty, LACMA) and the La Brea Tar Pits.
