I had a shit job at a print shop. I had to make a huge sign for a client. I asked for the logo. Over the course of 3 days this is what i got:
1. small jpg (same one they use on the footer of their email)- told them it was too small to use.
2. big animated transparent gif - told them i needed a vector file.
3. same gif saved in illustrator - fuck me- see...it's funny when the designer bitches about itmonospaced
- yup the old "raster in illustrator" is a fucking classicrascuache
- hallelujah0
I'm too fucking lazy to read it, so I'll have to take your word for it
- hallelujah0
lighten up, airey, you're taking this seriousness too seriously
- airey0
holy shit, just read through the whole thread. people here need to fucking relax. this was a bit of humour. is this place so completely filled with germans and north american's (both famous for not getting cynical humour - a gross generalisation obviously) that we can't take a joke anymore? seriously?
- of course, but it's just not funny!MrT
- I agree with MrT. We GET what it's supposed to be, but it's just not quite there. It's not funny at all really.monospaced
- sure, it's not great but all the serious comments after it are insane.airey
- airey0
what's / where's this from? i'm going to do a poster of it for some clients and want to credit the funny fucker!
- really!? lamemonospaced
- well if that's lame i don't want to be not lame.airey

What I still don't understand is why the client would want to make the designer's life hell in order to get shitty work back. A scenario-based joke like this is only really funny if it makes sense, and this one really doesn't.

Send her this back:

This could also be called, how to be ban by every designer in town.
- Countryman0
This assumes that the designer on the project will accept all this BS without dropping the client. I would leave (and have) after step 5, although I have left at 3 before and told them to go fuck themselves.
Unprofessional, maybe. Satisfying, very.

Just increase the margin and take out points 1 to 8 and it might be funny.

That is very funny.
Well its obviously a cynical truth but what a poor reflection on a company who would actually follow these steps to be funny. But on a serious note very typical of today's 'I don't care' generation. A poor work ethic that goes hand to hand with little to no software skills, adaptability, drive or even the reasoning to say 'I care and I will put in 100% even if I don't agree."
Blame everyone else for your impulses and lack of understandabilitity of advertising marketing tactics.
We have created a 'Blame You' world.

For the rest innocent designers out there:
There is one way to prevent such ruining...
Just ask for 50% or 100% in advance :)

This thread needs a design solution. Pictogram, diorama or short vid of interpretive dance please.
