After several months working like a slave I've decided to visit Lisbon from tomorrow friday until sunday night.
I've been there before - but this time I'd like to find "interesting" places out of the usual travel guides, etc.I'd like to find cool bookshops, ultra modern restaurants and super chill-out lounge bars full with beautiful people :)
We are staying at Sheraton, which have a very cool bar on the top of the building with amazing sights of the city. If someone wants to have a drink just say hello.

Just kidding, Lisbon is one sick place... just as beautiful as somewhat dysfunctional.
Buy a daily ticket, it covers metro, buses, all trams (including those skewed funiculars) and – not a lot of people know – Elevador de Santa Justa
Our favourite way to go about town was to jump onto those vintage trams, jump off when we saw a place we wanted to wander around. Then hop onto another tram. Not literally, but locals do jump them and ride on trams' sides.

Custard tarts at Antiga Confeitaria de Belem. Amazing as they are, they might not be enough for a beautiful, super-chilled lounger like yourself.

I love Lisbon. Totally a great walking city. You can easily put on 20 miles in a day and not even care cause there was so much to see. Go for a walk through the Baixa Alto when the bars open up. Maybe touristy so I'm not sure if I'm off base, but it seemed like a great vibe.

Café A Brasileira is good place just to chill:
Bairro Alto is a must-see walkable area with a lot of small cafes, restaurants, clubs and the best sneaker store interior ever (if it's still there):
There is a shoe store in Alfama... My cousin used to live in Lisboa and said it was the weirdest store she ever saw. We went there but it was closed weekends, we could only see through the glass.
It was run by an old timer and was a total mess. Shoes that seemed to be from the 70's or 80's were all over the place, just thrown around like garbage. There was a pathway swept among them. It was hard to believe it was a real store.
I have pics but they're archived on an old DVD somewhere...
Got it! Not mine, I just found this on Flickr:

Oh, you're from BCN – one question: did you notice people in Portugal pretend not to understand Spanish? Every time I asked "¿Hablas Español?" the answer was always a definite "No!".
My cousin, the one who had lived there said it was normal for them to act this way. It was strange as every Portuguese person I knew before understood Spanish without problems.- Never tried this.. I use english as default language :) Portuguese are the most friendly and kind people I've ever met.Amarux
- Hardcore catalans pretend to not speak Spanish . If you're South American Spanish will bring not bring you closer but further apart.soundofreason
- Portuguese from Portugal sound closer to German than Brazilian Portuguese. In South America it's easy for Brazilians to hold a conversation...soundofreason
- ... with South American Spanish.
In some cases it's even easier for a Brazilian to speak to a South American than to a Portuguese.soundofreason

I will be visiting Lisbon with girl and son for the first time end of January. Any recommendations such as unique museums, neighbourhoods, cafés, e.g. for us? Thanks in advance.
- Went there with my 5 year old a few ago. The main things were Oceanário de Lisboa and Torre de Belém. It's a really chilled city and people are great with kids.soundofreason
- Expect your child to be patted on the head and given free candy. Unless the #metoo movement has caught up with Lisbon.soundofreason
- Feed him bitoque (Steak + Fries + Egg), there's even a fast food place that serves it, I forgot the name.soundofreason
- check these guys for some Lisbon stuff: https://www.youtube.…shapesalad
- my tip: 10min Ferry to Cacilhas, dinner at Ponte Final, book ahead, time it for sunset.shapesalad
- Great thank you, I will check it all out. Sounds all very entertaining.Longcopylover
