Ok, this ad is clearly not aimed at Australians cause for one you can't even buy fosters in Australia! The only people i have ever really seen drinking fosters are poms who drink it cause its stronger than the local beers.

The problem I have with these ads, is not because of the stereotyping, but because they're not very good.
As an australian, they dont offend me at all, as a person working within the 'creative' industries, they annoy the bejesus out of me as they're rubbish.
The concepts are so dull, and seem like they;re trying to flog another few yards out of a dead horse of a campaign. How people shouting 'oi' is a clever insight into 'social networking' or a man speaking gibberish a slant on a 'gps' system is beyound me.
Sadly, most ads are the sum of the market they are targetting. If this ad appealed to me, i would be worried.

I had an friend from Australia stay at my place for a few days last week... she says nobody in their right mind drinks Fosters anymore...
I still love the story about how Frank Sinatra said something really idiotic that pissed off some union guys in the early 60's and then everyone in any union would refuse to do anything for him, so no stage hands, no trucks,etc... he had to almost walk out of the country....
- since the early 80's i don't think anyone drinks fosters in australia. maybe in darwin but i could be wrong on that.airey

aussies might not drink fosters much anymore but one thing they'll always do is shootin' roos
- oi!akrokdesign
- nothing wrong with shooting roos. just like shooting rabbits reallyephix
- big, worm-ridden rabbits.airey
- BuddhaHat0
Yep, shootin' roos is definitely a traditional Aussie past-time (if you know a single person that lives in the country)
I know it's on our national emblem and everything, but they are essentially a gigantic rodent, there are far too many of them in some places, and they need to get culled.
Besides, I grabbed 2 massive roo bbq steaks on the weekend and they were awesome. It's a really lean, healthy red meat, and goes down well with anything besides Fosters :)
I also recommend emu, saltwater crocodile, and water buffalo. All very tasty.

aaah i can't find it! there's another aussie beer ad that's more like a typical whisky ad.. majestic horses running through fields and and the narrative says "and more horses!!" .. majestic fileds.. "majestic fields" etc etc.. sounds lame but really good.
anyway, here's some good 'uns

I love the fact that no one in australia drinks fosters ... its the best advertising done anywhere ... the english all drink it and think its australian when really its as about as un-australian as it gets.
- mydo0
yeah, no one drinks fosters, you're all too busy drink draught bundy. WTF is that shit!
