This is a smart idea.
"The Google Chrome Frame is a plugin that users of Internet Explorer 6, 7 and 8 that, once installed, basically replaces IE’s rendering engine and JavaScript engine with the technologies used in Google Chrome."

I had the FF IE plugin but it crashed all the time.

The problem with all of these "killers" is that they're still something that the average user needs to be aware of and install. So a good portion of internet users aren't going to be any more aware of this than they are firefox.
- lets not forget the fact, that calling something a "killer" will most likely make it fail and be forgotten very quicklyMeeklo

this seems like a giant two fingers up at microsoft and so it should be for their second rate browsers.

True ninja, but imagine you arrive at a site and they ask you to install the Chrome plugin. It doesn't seem like nearly as much of a leap as downloading a new browser.
I agree killer is overused, I just wanted to post the grave picture.

Internet Explorer is the Jason or Freddie of the browser world. Just when you think its been killed or rendered useless it comes back bigger, stronger and shittier than before. And so this plugin is much the same as every secret weapon the hero or heroine uses only to find that they are not dead.

I totally trust Google with my personal info. I like that they hold on to useless info too no matter what. Instead of finding a way to classify their top results by real relevancy when it concerns important questions people might have. Such as having someone check if top results actually answer the query instead of just repeating the question with no answer or a "Google it, you moron!". Yay! Google!
