Pretty funny to see all these contests where no winner was selected.
Typical comment:
"The CEO and President did not see any one design that jumped out at them. They liked elements of more than a few of these - but none captured their imagination in a strong way.
We were pleased with some submissions and confused with others. We saw some copying of work by a few artists and more than a few over-simplistic and angry horses in designs (which we will never use). Bold does not = angry. We saw some interesting directions, but no single logo grabbed us completely. We're a bit disappointed overall, but we know a logo is out there for us somewhere.
Thank you all for participating and for your efforts. Even if no one was chosen, many of you clearly can be called "artists.""

That last line made me pee a little, haha.

the way i read that is; "We are too cheap even to pay for this crap. We will have my nephew copy one of these. "
- Or take a little from each and make a franken-designlocustsloth

But, to be fair there are a lot of contests where you only see utter crap.

Theres always iStockLogo™

"That looks Familiar" Logo downloaded from free vector site becomes a contest holder favorite http://tinyurl.com/qt9wn6
I think this is part of the reasoning behind iStockLogo™ before people buy a generic icon for $1 let them buy a generic logo for $100 (I think about iStock profits)

Love this one: http://www.specwatch.info/SWsep7…
Designer comment:
"The contest is being held on another site for $100"
Designer comment:
"dont you think we deseve an explanation about this contest been suspended? if its going to be reopened? or are you hiring a specific designer? i think we all love to know, thanks!"
Designer comment (the contest was for a 'laundry service'):
"The bubbles have burst, and the contest has slid into soapy waters."

haha fucking losers working for free
- brandelec0
we are all winners today
- jimbojones0
my problem with such sites is that nobody reads them except of designers who wouldn't take part in contests anyway. so it's fun to read and read but other than that completely worthless.

if you work for free, your work is probably worth that.
- there are also noble causesjimbojones
- I mean in this case... not non-profit work or something like that.jfletcher
