Chipotle Chicken Burrito - With rice, pinto beans, cheese, chicken, sour cream, and salsa, you get 1,040 calories and 16-1/2 grams of saturated fat - the same as three Subway Steak and Cheese 6-inch Subs. Plus the burrito comes with 2,500 milligrams of sodium! Ordering it without cheese or sour cream cuts the saturated fat to 3-1/2 grams, but you still end up with 810 calories and 2,300 milligrams of sodium. Ay Caramba! Here's another burrito that will shock you.
hold the cheese and i don't know about that sodium count. that rivals ramen noodles. also 16 1/2 grams of SATURATED fat? poly and mono maybe, but pure saturated fat? these numbers seem skewed. i read a lot of nutritional labels and for this burrito to be worse than a pizza in fat levels is just hard to digest (lol?).

- WHAT'D YOU SAY ABOUT MY TAQUITOS!?! YOU DON'T SAY NUTHIN ABOUT TAQUITOS MAN!kona
- hahahaMeeklo
- every time im in there picking up a 6pack i see someone order food that must be 5 days old, its disgusting!fooler2
- specially on sundays (my theory is that they put those things on mondays only)Meeklo
- so by the end of the week they end up looking pretty disgustingMeeklo

well remember, those burrito's are more than one serving. if weight or density were used to determine a serving size alone, i bet if we stacked the equiv count of a bacon ultimate double cheeseburger from jack in the box, mc donalds or even your favorite corporate chains offering (chili's, tgif, whatever), they would all kill chipotle on sodium and saturated fat content.
- wow...
open your eyes man, do you work for them or what?Meeklo
- wow...

I'm not saying jack or any of those are healthy, In fact I would look stupid if I tried to suggest they were, don't you think?
I'm just saying Chipotle is not, you should gather more than enough evidence from this page alone to sustain that claim (if the term mexican junk food was not enough in the first place).
Can we agree on that? Chipotle is not healthy food.
That's all I'm asking :)

I wouldn't label it as health food no, not at all, but when I compare it to other american fast food, it [appears, tastes, looks] much healthier. Just compare it to a Whopper or a Big Mac.
Compared to a chicken breast, boiled yams, and a spinach salad, it's not specifically healthy, but compared to TGI Fridays, I'll take Chipotle anyday. When I can't make my own dinner, I think it's a fine substitute.

The link for the top 10 worst foods seems lame to me. A mocha from starbucks has a lot of calories.... yep, did we not know that? Smoothie King has a 1100 calorie smoothie... but they don't mention some people (like me) need a lot of calories when they are working out. 1100 smoothie would be good for me as long as it's not 50grams of saturated fat... which it could be, I don't know the ingredients.
That list seems arbitrary at best for the "worst foods". Compared to a lot of things, many of those choices seem top notch :P
I think it's more, eat whats right for you. If chipotle is going to make you fat, have half a burrito. Sodium is a little over the top, so balance it with what else you eat. Not sure why you hate it so much.

I'm sure there will always be a more unhealthy option out there, whether its just high on fats, calories or give you something worst that hepatitis.
and that come come from anywhere too, and chipotle could be on the list as well (as in topping, it already unhealthy menu).
yes, you can go to jack in the box or whitecastle and just order a slice of tomato for lunch, but that doesn't mean that either of these restaurants are healthy, as their focus is to sell quick, junk/ fast food, as simple as that.

yeah, i think we all 'mostly' agree. you just have to remember, healthy is a subjective term. anyone that's followed the workout thread recently knows i stated that i was a hard-gainer, so i'm after the high calories and carbs.
i only watch for saturated fat and sodium, so perhaps i should look into which contituents of the chipotle burrito provide those considerably high sat fat/sodium counts, because that does matter to me. (though it's just hard to believe i'm getting that the way i have it prepared with a tortilla, rice, chicken, pico (tomatoes, onions, and cilantro), and guac.)
ok, i'm done with this topic. :)

Chipotle lovers wouldn't know a good burrito if they were burrito slapped in the face with it. Awful awful stuff. Their carnitas is an abomination to the real thing. It's like saying you can get great pasta at the Olive Garden.
I'll have to go back sometime and see if it's really as bad as I remembered. Ive been dragged there about 4 or 5 times.
- hahaha, I actually met a girl that said the best italian restaurant was Olive Garden..Meeklo

Funny how people get so amped about brands. Go get tacos al pastor or chilaquiles in your local barrio and realize chipotle is white people mexican food. You may like it but don't get mad at people for aiming higher.

Because, man! Because...

ok ok ok here's the deal. I think I started this by saying "its the only place I eat meat when Im at work" I never said it was the best mexican ever! I just liked that their meat was grass feed/ free range.
There are amazing mexican places in new york! too bad they are not in midtown!
thats my opinion.
for good mexican in new york I say LA ESQUINA
and in brooklyn LA SUPERIOR- You live in NYC and eat Chipotle as your only meat? Wow dude.DrBombay
- dude! when Im at work! I work in midtown manhattan! I feel like is a good lunch spot.. and its not like I get it everydayjoseprieto
- New York is food mecca and Mexican just doesn't do well there, it is an odd thing.DrBombay
- If I was in NYC I would be hitting up Doner Kebab everyday.DrBombay
- But I dont worry about my health so much. Obama is going to replace my insides ;)DrBombay

I took a gypsy cab from brooklyn to les a few years back, had a mexican cab driver. His family lived in Chicago, he told me tthe insane mexican restaurants back home (in chicago) but in NYC he was fucked. I can't understand it. Every other odd restaurant nationality is properly represented, but not Mexican.
- DrBombay0
Lots of people talk about "all mexican food in America is tex mex", you need to go to the midwest. Not sure why, but we have outstanding Mexican restaurants. Must be a migration thing. Classic mexican food for super cheap. You may have to venture to a marginal neighborhood but it is great.
- I have had tons of different soups that use all sorts or questionable parts of the pig here.DrBombay

Dude, Panda Express is the best real chinese food I've ever had... and Chipotle is the best real mexican food.... and Olive Garden the best itlian! Dominos is also very italian pizza!
... really, I think most people on this board realize Chipotle isn't mexican food. It's american food with a mexican title. People sure get fired up about this specific restaurant for some reason... or PF Chang. People love to hate PF Changs.
