I think qbn is pretty great actually -- and surprised a) how little praise it gets b) that no other sites have ripped it off.
It's all basic tech, but the overall idea & layout is miles ahead then any other 'community' sites I've been too. Just the way the home page gives instant access to user comments, user links and editors links is A+ imo.
Though for QBN v2 (nt v4?) -- it'd be good to have more stuff going on here then just links and newb pvn'ers posting nonsense. ie - interviews, competitions, sponsored colabs etc. Not so much generating QBN content, just more 'insider' inspiration and what not. If that makes sense...

- Quite good commentary.TheBlueOne
- It does indeed, on the other hand all that content takes workukit

Thread Categorisation tabbing is the single only change I'd like - if only so people might think twice about posting should they be confronted with a dropdown list including options such as "Vacuous Gassing", "Stalled attempt at humour", "JanneSpam" instead being lured by options such as "new work", "dialectic expectations of the Modern Movement", "interesting development", "industrial design", etc.
- oh yeah, point being you could filter out (actual filter, not search named as filter) unwanted thread types.detritus
- THIS!. setting up a few categories would really help. especially since people have been complaining about the content of latebaseline_shift
- about the content of late. let em go to the category they want.baseline_shift

The only thing I can think of is the function to view a users (mainly your own) previous posts and not just threads. Would be a lot easier this way to go back and read the notes on the posts you've made.

Two things:
- A simple filter option (maybe tabbed) at the top of the PV for design related threads and non-design threads (read: fun/spam/POTD)
- Being able to see which threads you've participated in and having an option of an email update when someone comments on your post.
That way, anyone who posts crap/spam in the design thread filter should be warned, then banned.

ignore all by default and make a buddy list

We've done this so many times...
For starters, an actual search feature would be the best thing to add. It would not be hard at all for them to implement Google search on this site instead of this terribly inefficient "filter" that searches only by keyword in the thread title.
I love this site, but the lack of a real search feature is a huge pain.
- google site:qbn.com searchkeywordjimbojones
- well, yeah. is that a solution though? would you tell a client, "nah, just use google"?mg33
- I don't pay for QBN so...jimbojones

It'd be great if we could port over the thumbnailing and keywording features from the QBNPro site.

Add a virtual cam section to the chick of the day thread.

a personal ''Favorite threads'' that you can access in your profile page. You know, by highlighting a lil' star at the top of a thread or something..
