I thought it was pretty good. The effects and premise were great.

To answer your second question, there is a good chance a sequel will happen.
- I hope not. I think it's perfect the way it is...ah, but such is Hollywood, eh?TheBlueOne

I thought this movie sucked. I lost interest right in the beginning seeing those stupid looking aliens walking around. The acting is supposed to be less like a movie and more like a documentary, but it doesnt work like that at all. The actors dont come off genuine at all. Its decent, but pretty weak overall.

was 'meh'...
... save your money and DL it off a russian site

I think it had some big gaping holes in the story, and most of the characters were lacking any sort of depth, I do think there was a nice maintenance of visceral, emotional current from start to finish.
I think Moon is still the scifi movie to beat this year..
- did anyone get 'sploded in Moon? that will be the deciding factor in if I see it.Point5
- As long as moon is nothing like piece of shit ill give it a shot.CygnusZero4

what is this reference to The Office that everyone keeps making? something about the camera angles?
- No, the main character is very Office like IMHO, as is the odd "humor" in the first 30 min..TheBlueOne
- mockumentary, innit?7point34
- yeah..i thought so..bit of a piss take..TheBlueOne
- Yeah, he watches his friend get killed, then he makes a joke about cat food. Worst movie of the year.CygnusZero4

I'm going to see it tonight. As long is it's a decent scifi flick I'll be happy.
- Decent would be pretty generous.CygnusZero4
- Well I really liked the War of the Worlds remake, and even The Happening....which both got bad reviews....so.designbot
- I'm sorry, but I see you've spilled some H8TRade on the floorTheBlueOne
- I would take world over the worlds over this any day. That movie is significantly better than this.CygnusZero4
- war of the worlds. lol messed that up badCygnusZero4
- ha...I loved the darker side of that remake. I also am a huge fan of the original War of the Worlds though.designbot
- The Day the Earth stood still...now that's one they messed up and took too many liberties with...strayed too far from the classic original.designbot
- classic.designbot
- I just realized you were referring to your typing and not the film..lol.designbot
- No I like the remake.CygnusZero4
- yeah great movie.designbot

Trying to decide whether to go see this or "Basterds" (which I am now just referring to as "Nazi Healthcare," as it's a more fun title) this weekend. Babysittin fairy don't come that often so we must choose wisely.
- Don't watch "Basterds" it's just a plug for socialized healthcare. Pure propaganda :)designbot
- hahahahaTheBlueOne
- those basterds!harlequino

The weird thing about D9 is its supposed to be a comedy, but with a serious back story. So you get people making jokes in serious situations and it just doesnt work at all. I was very close to walking out.
- Who says it supposed to be a comedy?funkgawz
- Yeah that trailer sure doesn't say "comedy" to meharlequino
- no one and nothing ever said it was to be a comedy.refunktion
- Except that they try very hard to make it funny, so I dunno, it is what it is. Lots of jokes at odd times.CygnusZero4
- There's def some 'The Office' style humor going on in there.dopepope
- Not a comedy.juhls

I'm tempted to post some Rule 34 of Wikus and Christopher Johnson.

Just saw it... much more intense than I expected it to be. It seems to me the film could've been better served with a much longer runtime, as with most Peter Jackson-involved movies. BUT, for what it was I thought it was really good. Even my grandmother and cousins really liked it. Now to see Moon!

I loved this movie. I loved that it took itself so serious and never let up the whole way through. The jokes were there, but they were "in" the movie, if that makes sense. I was still thinking about it days after. Wouldn't it be cool if they wait exactly 3 years to release the sequel? Oh, they better do a sequel. I want to see their humble revenge. I want to know what brought them to Earth in the first place. I wanna see little dude all grown up. I wanna see more evil corporate folks pay with their lives. I want even cooler weaponry... and peace for all our galaxies advanced life-forms. Yes. Thats what I want.

it's a great comedy. one of the ebst comedies ever.

Saw it last night. Definitely digging on this film. I thought overall it was pretty damn original and unlike any scifi I've seen in recent memory. I liked how it had all the good stuff like cgi/action but it also had a solid story which to me is a rare combination. It started off a little quirky but quickly got into the more dark/serious tone that I had hoped for in this movie. Some awesome action scenes, complete with a mech suit and lots of blood. The ending was slightly disappointing to me, but certainly wasn't bad. I suspect a sequel soon.
Highly recommend checking it out if your into scifi.
- yeah +1 for the mech suit actionTheBlueOne
- man that scene was sick :)designbot
