On a muggy day, there are few things as gross as this.
The sickening dampness under the feet that creates the "scchhhleeeeep" sound with every step. *shudder*
The only thing worse (which, aye – I've seen today) is having someone march around a studio barefoot.

We work by the beach. We have people that wear flip flops to work. It's not really noticeable. I mean, really people don't think anything of it.

Last place I worked at was housed in an old office building and one day the bathroom's urinals broke and overflowed creating a huge puddle of water and piss that filled the entire bathroom. Some "cool" business guy, looking at his blackberry on his way in, walked through all that shit in his flip-flops before realizing what was going on.

I tend to agree that the Jesus Slippers should be only for the beach, but I don't really care what people wear as long as they aren't bare foot.

What the hell does it matter, as long as people have clean feet that don't stink? I used to work at an office that was pretty buttoned-up as far as design studios go: no shorts, and no t-shirts that weren't on the fitted/dressier side. Even there, people wore sandals/ flip-flops in warm weather.
I wear flip-flops more than anything else when it's warm, unless I'm meeting with a new potential client or going to church (even then, sometimes I'll rock the leather lord boards @ church with a nice pair of linen khakis).

But yeah, barefoot is gross anywhere except for the beach or your own living room. I don't even like walking around barefoot in other people's houses. Most people I know aren't as clean as me and my wife. I hate that grimy feeling you get underfoot from walking across someone's kitchen floor that's in dire need of a good mop.

I hate when people have flip flops on in NYC... its just gross, I did it once and my feet were scary by the end of the day. Nobody wants to see hippies toes on the subway
