So I am looking to purchase a tent for Car camping. I was recommended to get at least a 6 man tent so I can have plenty of room to store all my stuff inside. I'll be using a queen size blow up mattress by Coleman inside. These are the two I am looking at right now:
This one runs around $100. the Coleman Montana 6 man - Footprint:12'x7'
And this one around $200:
Coleman Elite WeatherMaster Screened 6 man
Footprint: 17 x 9I like the screen on the second one.
Does anyone know if any reason I should go with a more expensive brand besides Coleman?
Thanks

Thanks for all the recommendations, it truely is a slow day on here. I dream of a day where we can all meet up at designer camp and exchange critiques of ripped logos around a campfire.

if you're going backpacking, you'll need a light tent.
if you're going camping often, more than 5x year, then you'll want a higher-quality tent.
sounds like you're just doing a little car-camping, 2-3x a year, in which case you can go get a decent kelty tent at target or something for like $50 - you won't want to carry it on your back anywhere, but they're decent tents and will work fine.
as far as getting laughed at, most of the people who shop at rei spend $400 on tents so they can laugh at people the one time a year they use it.

There's really no need to go and spend £150 or more on a tent unless you are planning to use it in serious -20 weather or something, I'd never spend more than £50 - £60 on a tent and iv'e been camping for years
Vango's are good, strong, waterproof and well priced too, maybe take a look at something like this
- here it is without all the extra sleeping bags etc, 45 quid - bargain! http://www.blacks.co…set

General 'chucking in the back of the car last minute and getting out of london' type tent, with a hint of 'not being laughed at when it comes to putting it up'.
