Depends on how big your office is. Who else is above you. Is there multiple track of ACD / CD jobs?
Have you asked to be ACD / CD?
I used to know quite a few people who were AD or ACD for 10 years longer but this is common on print, design and traditional ad world. For interactive, due to it short duration of industry maturity, everyone is a CD. Someone could be a CD at 22 etc. I know quite few CD who gave themselves the title of CD and got other CD jobs through that. What they lack is skill of design and skill of management as they never learned from seniors.

I've been an Interactive Art Director for about 10 years. I'm now at a place where my role is broader and a bit more strategic than my former Art Director roles... but at the same time I'm not a CD.
What would be an appropriate job title.
