Speaking of Luis and Walter I wonder when the Large Hadron is due to come back online again.
I also wonder if it will STILL be considered amusing to switch the word Hadron for "hardon" like it was last time, over and over again.
- We'll blow an earth sized hole in the earth ourselves! Fuck yeah! We don't need no comet..TheBlueOne
- Apparently they're still trying to shut down and resume next November:

And don't get me started on the weather – do you know what the weather is like on Jupiter.
Who knows where you begin to shop for the kind of clothes you'd need.

and what about time, night and day and all those issues, we'd have to change our whole notion of what is night and day, imagine how many little icons and world clock devices would have to change. Just imagine it.
- max_prophet0
imagine how many mobile phone networks you'd have on a planet that size... choosing a price plan/network would be a total nightmare.
- you're in the wrong job.Jnr_Madison
- there's a job for me?max_prophet

one thing that always concerns me about colonizing space is that if we end up on large planets like Jupiter, imagine how much airfares would cost. I don't think easyjet is going to be of much use over such vast distances.

"The solar system would have been a very dangerous place if we did not have Jupiter," he told New Scientist. "We should thank our Giant Planet for suffering for us. Its strong gravitational field is acting like a shield protecting us from comets coming from the outer part of the solar system."
- i'll pass around thank-you card if anyone wants to sign and we can send it off to jupiteracescence
- i always theorized that life was so complex we need a universe to make it so ...BattleAxe

Don't worry.

there's like 10,000,000 other ''Earth'' in the Universe with intelligent species on it. If we disappear, its no big deal.

Walter Wagner, who runs a botanical garden on Hawaii's Big Island, and Luis Sancho, a Spaniard, have asked for an injunction...
