So I was hired by a DJ to take some pics at his event, and delivered them low res.
He had a guest dj there who is a big deal (well connected), and I got some really good shots of him.
So this guy writes me and says he wants to use the photos in his press kit, but the low res ones aren't gonna cut it.
But he didn't want to pay (and I was REALLY fair ), This guy gets $500 a gig.
Now people are tellin me I missed a chance for some good exposure. I dunno how does this strike you?

Don't sweat it. If he spins out for $500 a set, and he can't understand an artist getting paid, then he's a douchenozzle and probably spins trance or (shudder) mash-up anyway.

And as far as connections go, his mnger represents a few pro skateboarders, and has designed shit for zoo york

I'm sure most designers have had to make this descion at some point in their career. You need to get your shit SEEN, but you also don't want to get a rep as the guy who works for nothing.
