Best thing yesterday was when they asked an american how well they were going to do... he goes 'yeah we're going to win it' they then asked him to name some of the players... he managed 3.
- That's way more than what most of them know...OSFA

how can the yanks get so over-excited fluking a goal and scraping a draw - come on - don't you expect better of your team?
you beat Spain last year!
- Of course a laser to the top left of the net is better, but as long as the ball gets in the goal, really.stoplying

It was a good game overall. Both teams showed some good moments and that they still have room to grow and improve. Remember the first WC game is always tough, and now that it is out of the way, they will face Algeria and Slovenia with more confidence.
Why are Americans happy? Remember 80% of them have no clue what they are watching or talking about, so to them not loosing = good, specially because they were fed a 'rivalry' with the English team on US networks. Ask the brits if they are happy with a tie....
I was split, I really want to see England go far since I've always been a fan, and as a football fan, I enjoy watching the strength, discipline and effort of the US team, and think they have grown over the years and are ready to move forward and do better. Not a bad result for them and I still believe both teams will make it to the next round.
