I wana run this through the people who prob know the internet/law more than i do
We recently got fuckd over by our letting agent and made homeless from a flat that we were contracted to stay in for 6months. Basically the landlord never paid her mortgage which evidently meant we got evicted due to repocession.
The letting agent said "tough shit" to us and didnt even help us out trying to find a new place. and claimed that they were just a middle man and when things like this happen it is nothing to do with them - which is bollocks because if anything they are more than abliged as they set us up with this twat in the first place and deal with his maintenance of the property.
my idea.....
basically create a website that has their name in our domain name ie: thecompanyname_are_untrustworthy...and have a big bold statement with their logo saying they are untrustworthy
also there will be a few selectable comments below that take you to another page that tells you the full length story. These will be peoples experiences with this company.
all comments are true so would this be slanderous ?
could we get prosecuted for this ?before you ask...... is it really worth it ? - answer is absolutely - we both lost over £400 and put up with ALOT of shit over the last 6months.

wow, that some shitty story,
did you find a new place or are you still stuck in the loop?man, you should definitvely do it and allow other people to write and denounce why their landlord/agency is trying to screw them

You might find its less hassle in the long run to just move on and learn a valuable lesson about life. You clearly have a lot of bitterness but all the effort you will put into doing this will not alleviate those feelings one iota, not will it make a dent in the people or the business who you feel animosity towards.
Fact of life 1: Bitterness is like swallowing poison and expecting somebody else to suffer for it.
Fact of life 2: Letting agents are not usually god fearing philanthropists.

bitterness yes but i'm sure they are crooks and there is alot more to this story i havent let out
so i feel this will prob be an aid to people who search for this company via search engines - at least this will stand a chance of being read
is it dangerous then ?
- I would start by seeking out others who got screwed in the same way by the same landlordMal

It's not the estate agent that is untrustworthy, it's the landlord. There is generally a big problem with this and because of the recession it's happening more and more to people. It happened to close friends of mine and they lost alot more than £400.
The whole rental thing is completely biased towards the landlord, as a tenant you have to have hundreds of checks, employer, character reference, bank, the list goes on. But as a landlord there is nothing. The problem lies with the law, not the estate agent. The law needs to change.
While I do sympathise with you as it's a pretty shitty situation, just move on and try to forget about it. Building a website against this estate agent will just land you with a lawsuit.

Slandering and snitching and public burnings doesn't help make this world any better. Although puritanism seems to be making its way back in new discreet forms.

Sorry dude, but I would have to say this is not a surprise and I wouldn't really expect anything from the letting agents unless they had a flat available on their books, if they had no flats then I really wouldn't expect any help.

What would you have liked to have happen after the landlords property was repossessed? What do you feel the letting agent should have done?
If the letting agent wasn't interested in finding you another place, then they're very very stupid (doing themselves out of business) and will probably fuck themselves over at some point in the future.
- when the judge is working out whether you need to be prosecuted they'll probably ask these questions.lukus_W

its more about how they treat their tenants to be honest - nothin to do with landlord although shes a dick n'all
anyway just wana know - can i get done for it
is it classed as slander if its the truth ?
