I really hope this isn't the case, but as I was watching the Bing-a-thon on Hulu.com I noticed the travel page looks a lot like Kayak.
Bing:
http://www.bing.com/travel/fligh…Kayak:
http://www.kayak.com/r/F9MdPDHmm....

similar, not the same.
And really, they both look terrible.
A sea of cluster fucked information.

Most of the data points read exactly the same, in the same order. It's obviously a rip off job.
While it does look a bit confusing, I always felt the Kayak layout was pretty powerful in helping you find a flight quickly.

They are both shit. Where the fuck is that cobalt bomb?

Microsoft Live bought Farecast, which is now part of Bing

They do look similar. They both have wall-to-wall information. They both look bad. If you're gonna rip someone off at least rip off someone good.

kayak adds a giant pop-up ad to the browsing experience.
+1 Kayak

can someone please explain why bing's header has a background image that makes it look like my old dear has been customising her web browser with holiday snaps.
- Trying to look different than just a logo on white background I guess.ETM

The answer to all Bing related things: Because Google does it.

I thought the thread title read: Bong rips Kaya?

Microsoft bought Farecast this past year – which was a service very similar to Kayak in their offering. They have rolled the Farecast approach into Bing with the assistance of Powerset, another company they purchased this past year.

So I sent an email to Kayak to ask about the supposed thievery and I got this reply:
"Hi Michael,
Yep... we've noticed! I guess it's true what they say - imitation is the highest form of flattery :-)
That being said, we have done some playing with Bing and have found that although they might have copied the look and feel, they haven't been able to copy the actual search engine. As a result, they don't have the same set of results etc. Hopefully, users will soon see this."
