- Oh, forgot to mention its a Suzi Vstrom 650 XT (70hp). Also available with 1000cc (100hp)mekk
- Look at the Triumph Tiger also. A friend of mine picked one up for 6K USD used with only 10K miles on it and absolutely LOVES it.GM278

- For 6k it even came with all the panniers etc.GM278
- hmm availability and dealership network is not great here in south germany. I want to test ride for a day before buying one.mekk
- And its a 3-cyl right? I wanted to switch from my 4-banger to a twin or v2 because I like the torquey riding style :) hows the 3cyl there?mekk
- That Triumph motor is awesome. (I'm biased on 3 cyl.) Read the reviews. The Triumph crushes the V-Strom in every aspect.GM278
- Just found this: http://advrider.com/…GM278
- Don't really see where the Tiger crushes the Wee, it's a totally different bike imomekk
- I'm saying it crushes it. :P That forum seems to lean towards it is all.GM278
- Thanks for the input man :) But I think the wee is just right for me and my budget. The Tiger would be a few years older and much higher mileage in my budgetmekk
- I had vstrom and now I have a Tiger. The Tiger is the better bike but there's nothing wrong with the vstrom either. I loved it when I had it & v reliable.JerseyRaindog

^how dies it compare to the 899?
I've been thinking about getting a used one, and the 1199 is not much more expensive these days.I've been riding bikes for more than 10years, but spent the last 3years on a modest sportster 883.
I don't plan on using the panigale racetrack use, only weekends road trips.
The 1199s is tempting as beautiful object, but I'm afraid it could be too much on the road for me to really enjoy it.- @dyspl its batshit mental... But at the same time handles low speeds pretty well and plod along... TBH you would be fine with a 899, i had to go up as all my...necromation
- ^Agreed. Bigger doesn't always mean better. If you're looking for a great weekend bike to rip around (especially outside Vegas) you'll be happy with the 899.GM278
- Besides, the money you'll save in insurance alone might tempt you to pay for a track day or two ;) You can really improve your street riding ALOT on track days.GM278
- As all my mates where on litre bikes and I was ragging the nuts of my 899 to even keep them in distance. Get the 899 you will LOVE itnecromation
- Im usually all for lighter bikes. I enjoyed a lot my supermoto in the south of France roads. But having a panigale is also about the object itselfdyspl
- It feels to me like an exotic car. And regarding that the 1199 with the mono swingarm, the S full olhins... it makes for a beautiful machine.dyspl
- But I agree the 899 would be already plenty. Btw, not in Vegas anymore, im in San Diego now :)dyspl

Out of curiosity I looked a bit around what the big Japanese, English, German and Italian motorbike companies have to offer.
Gotta say I'm unimpressed. For Example, the Ducati Monster, especially the S4 model, around 2000 was my alltime favourite bike to look at stock. Man, what is this new thing? Or the Yamaha MT07.
Is there a decent modern bike out that is actually cool? I'm talking about a sporty bike in a classic look, naked. With street or supermoto architecture, maybe a bit cafe-racerish or in a scrambler look. Something cool, u know? Something that does not shout "ATGATT" at anyone.
With a few modifications the new BMW nineT could be a candidate:
Not looking into buying a bike, just wondering why new stock bikes look so ugly. :-)
- Look at the Husky Nuda 900r... Looks like it's a super moto from the future with a nice 900cc lump! 2011-12 productionnecromation
- sounds good, never heard of the nuda before :-)mekk
- Most of that new stuff just looks like something that has been done before. Because it has.
So why buy the new stuff? Because of a digital tachometer?Longcopylover - well with 6'3 the Ducati would be way out of range for memekk

- i'm the one with Duc... see the pattern lolnecromation
- If you get the chance you should get out here to Austin, TX. The roads in hill country are SICK.GM278

- you stunt?moldero
- @moldero Man, I wish I could ride like him. That's Ernie Vigil https://www.youtube.…GM278
- I prefer to keep both wheels on the ground on my sport bikeGM278
- I'm not a big fan of stunting, but that was a good vid, loved the intro especially, racing's where it's at ;)moldero
- God damn I miss that shitmoldero
- yeah man, we used to "squid hunt" not sure if it's a universal term, it's basically smoking these guys in the mountains or at the trackmoldero
- this guy looks pretty damn good though, I wouldn't be surprised if he raced toomoldero
- "Squid" is a pretty universal label. I limit my racing to the track, especially considering how ppl drive here.GM278
