do you have a page open that auto-refreshes (ie. qbn)?

Does it happen just with Firefox or with Safari as well?
- mg330
I get it only with Safari, and fairly frequently.

I have beachballs from hell. Can't figure it out. Work in PSD kills my system, granted I am working on 13x19 400 DPI prints in 16 bit. I have worked with these type of files before. Did all the tweaking and increased photoshop to snag a nice 3.5 gigs of memory, scratch is ample 60 gigs ... ugh. I also have LR2 open and AI. But system use is minimal. Freaking Hell.
Don't lecture me on 16 bit ... it only double files size. I always create work at max and down if need be. haha. trix are for kids.
ps. just had two beach balls while typing this and loading another layer into PSD. Mother of sins. I swear.

I don't have that problem with FF on my late 08 MBP. In fact, I rarely get any beach balls at all unless trying to load servers in finder sometimes.

FF is fucked. I've had nothing but trouble with it. It keeps trying to access files on other computers on my network, and when it can't get them, it locks up.

Did you try the basic Mac Maintenance stuff: Disk utility, DiskWarrior and Onyx?
Did you try to make a new FF Profile? https://support.mozilla.com/rw/k…
