A4 DPS = Two A4 sheets side by side.
- Q010
That is fine.

Thats not a French. Its a Japanese.
- Q010
It's a Japanese fold? Are you certain?
Can we get a backup on that?
- Horp0
French fold is blank on the insides and printed on a thicker stock. Japanese has a small-gauge pattern print on the insides of leaves to eliminate text confusion due to the extremely light transluscent paper used in Japanese books. The difference is in the binding... French is perfect bound, Japanese is cotton stitched

I believe its called a Bulgarian Lip Switch

ATTENTION.
Cpt. Horp has informed those interested that "see above". He is awarded Gold in information but Bronze in external information.
The quest continues for Q01.
Is it possible to export from InDesign in order to print Japanese fold on an A3 printer? Ya get meh?
Over scouts.
- UPDATE: JERK Disagrees. He claims French Fold! The saga grows!Q01

I thought it was french. As for printing it, I think its under print booklet and change the booklet type to 2-up consecutive. I have done it before and that is where its done. Not positive about the booklet type though.

nope sorry, I haven't done it in quite some time so I don't remember how I did it

the japanese fold is a little more complex
but even more useful

so, french folding is dependent on the binding? who knew? i always just thought a french folded page was a page(s) where each edge is bound back into the spine after being folded.

It's called "clients rarely approve french-folding because of ridiculous production costs, so don't even bother proposing something like that unless it's a really boutique project" binding.
- although, you can french fold small runs by hand fairly easy.rosem

my first portfolio out of design school was french fold, with colour fills on the insides of the folds, one colour for each project
it had a white vinyl cover
i made it myself, i was pretty stinkin' proud, although it fell apart eventually
- Q010
You made it yourself ArsenicPants?
Did you print it yourself, how did you go about producing it?
Any help would make Q01 exceedingly 'appy!
— Rand, that is a thing beauty, top marks sir!
