Ultimate gaming rigs has 2 schools of thought.
1. Build one yourself; find all the best gamer componentry, OCZ RAM, Nvidia Graphics in SLI, Quad Core Extreme CPU, 10,000rpm SATA HDDs (or SAS if you can afford it), water cooling, 1500W PSU, Antec P193 sound-deadening case.
2. Go a pre-built rig from the likes of Alienware, HP, or Dell XPS.

I just built a core i7 rig.
2.67 Ghz i7 quad core
6GB DDR3 Corsair XMS3
Nvidia Geforce GTX 260
Asus P6T Motherboard
Corsair 650W power supplyI think I only spent around $800 (already had case/dvd drives/ hard drives) pretty dope. It'll run anything. Way faster than my work machine (Dual Quad core G5 w/ 8GB RAM)
- unless your going for a silent PC, you don't need liquid cooling. You can get equivalent air cooling now.designbot
- where did you pick that stuff up from? pretty cheap at 800.00.moveinspace
