anybody here got any knowledge/experience with bikes?
so im thinking of buying this giant crs 1.0, not sure if its The One™ for me...
http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en…It's really a commute bike for work, mainly on some kind of road i guess... but I would like something that isn't going to give me sore nuts going over humps and bumps...
I'm sure a bike-specific forum would be the place to go, for a question like this, but that's crazy talk.. you qbn'ers are much more qualified.
so any recommendations?

i saw a man and his lady friend cycling today, actually.
First, the man stopped. succesful. did not fall off.
then, the woman stopped. failure. she fell into a wall.
then the man got really angry wih her and threw his GLOVES at the GROUND, really hard

my wife and I both got new bikes 2 years ago and when riding next to each other in traffic we stopped at a red light. She couldn't get her feet out of her cages and fell over into me making me fall over into on coming traffic.
If I had gloves on I would have thrown them at the ground really hard.

I used to ride a rode bike to work (giant ocr1), worked out well for commuting until stolen.
Maybe think about getting something used or a clunker if you are riding it to work etc.

I would recommend the same think as Canuck. Cyclocross bikes are great because you can put small road tires and bigger dirt tires. The geometry is also usually not as aggressive as a "full on road bike", so it makes for a smoother ride on harsh surfaces.
you can check Giant, Cannondale, Specialized, Kona, Fuji, Trek, etc.
Check also bikeforums.net. Ask questions over there. Tons of good people that know way more things about bikes than me.
Oh, and wear a helmet.
