I love this game. I think the steroid epidemic has ruined the integrity of the sport for a long time.
However, it bothers me that Manny is being made example of for a chemical in his system that is most commonly associated with erectile dysfunction, but not performance enhancing AT ALL, not to mention, we're all speculating right now anyway as this has just come out less than 24hrs ago.
I don't even particularly care about Manny personally (tho the Dodgers are my team and he has helped tremendously lately), but I believe he is all about himself. He doesn't care if he wears dodger blue or NY pinstripes. I'm just saying because baseball has gotten so out of control, he is being made example of.
I'm willing to arm wrestle over it. or drinking contest or whatever big dick contest is necessary to prove my point :)

Bonds, McGwire and all the other juice heads, the greed, and the strikes have killed it!

    Baseball is dead to me!

    • BS records of Mac and Bonds R BS. I dig. But the strike? Come on! Its a beautiful game that will come back eventually.threadpost
    • I'm gonna most certainly raise my kids to love this game. Imagine being brought up on the Mick or DiMaggio? heros.threadpost

Threadpost, using 24hrs of a headline breaking as an excuse to not lambaste the guy is ludicrous.

The test was done a while ago. The results were found a while ago. And this suspension was probably doled out a few days before we even found out.

After seeing what happened to J.C. Romero of the Phillies in the off-season (getting suspended AFTER he took something they said he could take) you would think these guys would not take any chances. E.D. medication or masking agent for steroids you don't take it if it's going to yield a positive.

Manny being made an example of is a piss-poor excuse when many players both MLB and MiLB have been suspended for 50-100 games. Because he is a self-centered asshole that happens to play in Los Angeles for more money than any of us can comprehend does not make him an "example."

Like I said before, I am not one bit surprised, Manny Ramirez is a player for Manny Ramirez and to think he wouldn't do or try to elevate his game for some free agency bucks is ridiculous.

Does anyone know the details about him losing out on $8mil. Did the Dodger's put a clause in his contract? If so, that means even they were suspecting. Or does the team straight up not have to be on the hook if you get suspended?

    • People are now saying that's why he was a free agent for so long.

    • And why it took so long to sign with LA

If you believe what the MLB spinmeisters are saying her took, I have some photos of Bigfoot I would like to sell you.

I heard on the DP Show this morning that MLB knew he tested positive and were monitoring him. WTF that means who knows.

    • saying HE took.....not her. it's early.
