Threadpost, using 24hrs of a headline breaking as an excuse to not lambaste the guy is ludicrous.
The test was done a while ago. The results were found a while ago. And this suspension was probably doled out a few days before we even found out.
After seeing what happened to J.C. Romero of the Phillies in the off-season (getting suspended AFTER he took something they said he could take) you would think these guys would not take any chances. E.D. medication or masking agent for steroids you don't take it if it's going to yield a positive.
Manny being made an example of is a piss-poor excuse when many players both MLB and MiLB have been suspended for 50-100 games. Because he is a self-centered asshole that happens to play in Los Angeles for more money than any of us can comprehend does not make him an "example."
Like I said before, I am not one bit surprised, Manny Ramirez is a player for Manny Ramirez and to think he wouldn't do or try to elevate his game for some free agency bucks is ridiculous.
Does anyone know the details about him losing out on $8mil. Did the Dodger's put a clause in his contract? If so, that means even they were suspecting. Or does the team straight up not have to be on the hook if you get suspended?
- People are now saying that's why he was a free agent for so long.********
- And why it took so long to sign with LA********
