why would you leave anything of value within plain site? Especially expensive electronics.
- Accident. I usually put it in the console with the little door closed. I know it was my fault.CygnusZero4

i'm sorry, but never give a reason for people to break into your car. a gps lying out is a prime target.

Took the GPS and left the charger? What an idiot.
- I know. Not only that, but it was a bottom of the line Garmin. guy broke into a car and wont get more than $80 for it.CygnusZero4

maybe find a way to track down your gps? and find where that fuker is at.
my friend's bike was stolen and the funny thing is he found that fuker trying to sell his bike on craig's list with his address. so he stole the bike back. lol
- I thought about that. I wouldnt have any clue how to do that, if its even possible. They dont have the charger anyway. It'll be dead soon.CygnusZero4

This happened to me a few months ago. The worst part was spending a nice Sunday afternoon getting my window replaced.
I don't keep anything in my car now, and always leave the door unlocked incase anyone wants to make sure.

Well since posting this I got the window fixed, car vaccumed, and a new GPS. So all is well. Cant wait for it to happen again. Happy times!

Maybe they smashed in your window because they're vandalous pricks, and then they found your gps and swiped that?
Just because you know the facts of the aftermath--smashed window, and gone gps--doesn't mean you know the motivations, or even the narrative of what happened.
I mean, the guy could have been fucking a women against your car, and then her head went through the glass. Then, someone later took the opportunity to swipe your gps.
I'm sure it sucks from your point of view, but don't jump to conclusions.

what's really sad is that the dude will probably trade it in for $15 worth of drugs.

Last summer I was walking out to my car at the same time someone was checking the handle to see if it was open. I rushed this dude and he almost shit his pants as I was a cunt hair away from knocking his teeth right out of his mouth. I don't think I was ever so overcome with fury before. He was scrony and obviously on drugs though. I almost felt bad for the fucker because he started apologizing and almost started crying. Still though, I'm not sure what made me stop from clocking him. Maybe it was when he cowered when I was screaming like a madman. lol.

I carry my GPS around, since it's built into my iPhone. Shouldn't I get a break on my car insurance?

I got this in email today:
GPS
A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken into while they were at a football match. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans.
Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard. When the victims got home, they found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen.
The thieves had use d the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain =2 0 entry to the house.
The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean up the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents.- heard a similar story, but the person was at a theme park...Not_Just_Another

my gps is in my glove box when not in use. since i don't store gloves in my glove box, this is a natural choice.
