I've been getting spammy emails recently about registrars in China "warning" me that "someone" is going to register my domain names, but with the .cn extension and offering me the opportunity to buy them first at "favourable prices" I lulz.

You could win a case against them easy. Provided you have copyrighted and trademarked your name. The case would be over in 5 minutes. Even if it's not trademarked, you would probably still win, but it would be more difficult.

I say you talk to the guy, tell him you will buy him an alternative URL if he give you the .biz one.
