I had a 1970's AR, this image is of an 80's AR.... nice turntable, belt drive, supurb vibration isolation, where the platter and tonearm and drive mechanism were sprung together in a suspension above the heavy wooden base. A bit tricky to get used to putting the tone arm on the record, and the opposite of a Technics 1200, which was solid as a rock. The AR was sprung, so if you touched the platter or the tonearm, they would both move in unison a bit, neutralising the vibration.. you could stomp on the floor and the record wouldn't skip, but you could see the suspension absorb the motion....
