When you need to launch an app to flag dangerous area's surely any concept of a crime problem has gone too far:
https://twitter.com/TheHunchApp
"Help us fight back against #knifecrime and make our city safer. By downloading Hunch, the new early warning knife crime app. Free, simple and anonymous. Download now from Google Play & the App Store https://www.hunchapp.co.uk/ "
- How about a copying the Japanese Kōban system - lots of little local police stations to help communities feel safer.shapesalad
- ^ of course in UK Kōban wouldn't' last more than a week before graffiti, vandalised, fire bombed and officer beaten to a pulp...shapesalad
- I saw this vaguely in the papers earlier, inwarldy groaned and moved on, ignoring it. It's easy to make an app, so there's a retarded app for everything.detritus
- The majority of stabbings and shit are - like most violent crime - between already-knowns and within young social structures.detritus
- Oh, hold on - perhaps I misunderstood WHAT the app is. Hold on, I retract the above. Perhaps I shoudl have read the article, loldetritus
- Seems like an extension of the 'see it say it sorted' anti terrosit shit from the past decade, or neighbourhood watch from the decades beforehand..detritus
- ..just aimed at youth, comparative anonymity and away from curtain twitchers. I see nothing terribly bad here.detritus
- Although I can imagine it being a targetting vector for square kids at school "Oy, cant, let me see your apps - you got Hunch on there? I'LL STAB YOU"detritus
- I just wish LDN would start vigilante squads against scooter cunts - noisy food drivers included. Fuck those fucks.detritus
- thats the UK for you. we have to tolerate EVERYTHING without question. #keepcalmandcarryon more like #shutupandputuptrooperbill
- No, no, no - that's the fucking problem with the English -0 they whinge and moan and complain about everything.. but actually DO fucking nothing.detritus
- Very few people in this country actually stand up and say or do anything, so shit slides and everthing gets worse. Fucking Daily Mail reading classes, all.detritus
- I spend a lot of time walking the streets (slut that I am) and am basically a nutter because I get in arguments weekly, because I DO say shit to people.detritus
- I got called a 'white cunt' and spat at the other day because some moped fuck was being a dick - I was tired and perhaps should've backed down...detritus
- ..but instead I took him to task and didn't back down. He had to make a choice in the end - was his dickery worth it, or did he back down and fuck off?detritus
- So he fucked off. I got a warm smile from a person in an adjacent car (i was on foot), and then I carried on my way. Thankfully he was shit at spitting & misseddetritus
- If I ever stop posting on here, it'll be because I've been stabbed by some wretched cunt...detritus

- London property bubble, gonna burst....shapesalad
- and brexit is the pin about to pop it.shapesalad
- I think prices need to fall but I've seen videos like this for the past 7 years. A stopped clock is right twice a day...Chimp
- In central central London - rent has dropped to like £1500-£1600 for a 1 bed place.mugwart
- Sydney's bubble is worse than London's. But most here are in denial of it.MrT

- I know a few folk who've moved there. It was Hastings a few years back.PhanLo
- was looking to move there ... shit now everyone will be there!mugwart
- Friend moved there a few years ago, he's gutted as he wants to move to bigger place but prices have jumped recently.. probably because of all the influx from Lodee-dubs
- ndon, so needs to look elsewhere nowdee-dubs
- Poor cockneys. Wherever they go, the hipsters always turn up and price them out of the place - E2, Leyton, Essex Riviera, Hastings, Kent, the Balearics...Fax_Benson
- ^^ yeah @dee I was looking at house prices and what is now £330k now was 86K in 2008. thats insane.mugwart

- Several people are injured after car 'intentionally ploughs into cyclists at 50mph' and smashes into security barriers outside Houses of Parliament.shapesalad
- This stuff is normal in LD now.robotron3k

Whats up? Is anybody live here?

- London looks absolutely awesome in the 1960s! Everything is well designed - buses, cars etc, all have a charm.shapesalad
- miss that cane walk!mugwart
- people seem healthier as well. Wonder if that was the casemugwart
- shapesalad0
- If you could instantly go back to that time, spend a day in London, then be back in London 2018 - I think you'd cry at what we've lost and what London's become.shapesalad
- yeah ... was moaning about this with my fiancée last nightmugwart
- except for the fact that in the 1960s millions were living in slums and there was a higher proportion of impoverished householdslowimpakt
- ^ nothing has changed thenmugwart
- lol at jellied eelmugwart

Anyone got any good recommendations on areas near around London to live in?
Really heart stricken but i'm looking to move out from her. Extended my contract for one last year and going to look to move out somewhere cheaper where I can actually save money.
Spent my life here and always felt a bond but "she's" no longer the London I knew, I'm genuinely heart broken about this.
#tearyeyed
Never really enjoyed North London/M25 way but does anyone have any good recommendations on places to move to? I'm thinking of East Sussex/Kent way. Grandfather lived Virgina Waters but I don't have that sort of money he did but loved that landscape.
I feel like a victim of abuse in waiting for their loved one to change ;-S
- Good luckOBBTKN

- Woolwich is cheap and has cross rail arriving in a year.SlashPeckham

Anyone know of a free co-working space in London, if not free something around the £100 per month mark. Ideally open weekends.
It used to be that you paid £150 -/+ and could get monthly hot desk access, as much as you wanted it for. Now it seems you pay that and are limited to 40 or so hot desk hours. To get everyday per month access you got to pay £400 -/+. WTF. Add to that extortionate rent and metro tube costs... god damn this city is a drain.
- shapesalad4
- Such a shame. Another thing Sydney followed suit with, and now overspending billions to put light rail back in on the same streets. DUMB.MrT
- Lol, that's a really well put together videodee-dubs
- yeah, this is brilliant videomugwart

Yeah, disrupt public transport, make people use cars or take detours, causing more pollution...
Offer up some Butterkist in it's plastic packaging:
Spray some graffiti from an aerosol can:
Why don't they instead use their brains, become super educated, stand for election and using their brains, convince the public to vote for them to help implement policy change to help climate issues?
Oh no wait...
Easier to wear Nike trainers, ugly polyester mixed socks and get yourself arrested for protesting in a way that pisses off the public:
- The virtue signalling elite.Morning_star
- Its actually a massive viral PR stunt by Sony to promote the reboot of Rockstar's classic PS2 game ....
https://www.youtube.…Bluejam - yeah but their instagram feeds will look great.hans_glib
- as the sun grows and swallows the earth, what's the point in 'saving the earth', and worrying about climate change, it's just delaying the inevitable.shapesalad
- might as we enjoy gas guzzling cars and long haul flights, imported goods and petrol powered lawn mowers.shapesalad
- *wellshapesalad
- I used to worry about eco stuff, but now, whatever, the plant is going to be dead in a few million years, whatever... enjoy today, worry less about 1000 yearsshapesalad

- eh, does that mean your life of apathy is worth 2,999,000 years of humanity?PeterPancake
- i hate arguments like this. there is NO ethical consumption under capitalism, so anyone who fights against it is automatically easy to label as hypocriticalcolin_s
- good on these ER folks.colin_s
- I think you could shorten that to "there is no ethical consumption" and thereafter "humanity is inherently unethical" and be done with it.Nairn
- Not sure where that leaves anyone usefully though.Nairn
- Mother earth is doing fine for millions of years, humanity "need" to be saved, or not. We are such arrogant cunts.ApeRobot
