I'm not a web designer but I've hated him for ages. From the point of view of any designer in any design discipline the concept of hierarchy is important. Nielsen seems to get his idea of hierarchy from powerpoint.
To be honest unless you grew up with the net from at least your teenage years, you don't really 'get it' I work with lots of guys in their 40s/50s who use it all the time, are pretty competent but just don't get the mindset:
I mean would trust these guys to know about what our generation knows about the web?
