I'm looking for a person or studio to design a custom typeface for me. There's a budget and I have a very clear idea of what I need. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? Thx.

I need a handwritten, graffiti inspired font that's not too over the top. This site has some good examples of what I'm looking for.

$300-400. Good luck!

That budget really is laughable. Do you have any idea how much time is involved in designing a typeface? You're talking about paying someone $5/hr at that rate.

In all honestly if 400 is your budget you are not gonna get anything. A font with that budget is like paying less than minimum wage to the type designer. You can barely get a family with that cost, much less something custom even if it's just one weight.
Suggest you do it yourself

a-z and a very basic ot setup is all you will get with such a budget, IF there absolutely no revisions, which is quite impossible. Maybe you're better off spending like 20 bucks on an existing graffiti font, there are tons of them everywhere

is this about lettering a headline?

^ if that's your budget I second using font shop's service. we did it for Rachael Ray and it didn't turn out too bad.

Ok, I wasn't aware that there was an hourly rate to typeface design. I was under the impression that slight variations could be made to an existing design. I'm certainly not one to underpay people for their work. I may have to pursue writing out the letters myself and using Fontshop to convert them into a font. But that only cost $250. Anyone use that type of service?
