- d_rek0
My ex-roommate did it. He didn't lose any weight. He just shit mortar for like 5 days. Ask me it's a holistic waste of time.
- monospaced0
you could lose and "o" in loose
- Horp0
Me
85 pounds in a single session. They had the pressure up too high and all my internal organs were pulverised.Don't get me wrong though, it was worth it. I look great in tight teeshirts.
- epikore0
I heard it's a waste of time, but I also heard someone tried Master Cleanse and he felt a lot better.

I had the flu this weekend which forced my body to fast on Friday. My fever was so high, my body didn't have the energy to eat anything. Fasting for a day let's the digestive system rest which is healthy. You have to still drink juices though.

" green river ! hey doc ... using the whole fist there?!? "

The idea of "cleansing" your body is new-age holistic bullshit. All you do is harm your body when you put things into it that "cleanse" it. If you exercise regularly and diet healthy you will have nothing you need to "cleanse" yourself of.
- And even if you don't exercise reguarly or eat healthy you still don't need to do that shit.d_rek

i've tried the master cleanse. be prepared for massive headaches the second and third day (if you consume caffeine), as well as being very tired the first 3 to four days. after that you start to feel better (and need less sleep).
the drink, mind you, tastes like shit (lemon, water, maple syrup, cayenne pepper), and will more likely than not leave you(literally) with the obvious "hot in, hot out" feeling if you know what i'm saying...
i'd say the average weight loss is probably anywhere between 8-15 lbs. but that's not really the point of it (and some would argue if there is a point to it at all), as you will most likely just put the weight back on in a few weeks.
i just wanted to try it after feeling shitty and getting shitty sleep for like a month. seemed to work.
- "lemon, water, maple syrup, cayenne pepper" ? There is NO medical basis for these foods having any benefit.mikotondria3
- it's not a benefit per se. it's more of the most basic of elements you can get by on. sort of.lvl_13
- I couldn't go more than 3.5 days. I started hallucinating.********

Exactly - d_rek..
When doctors open up people's bowels during surgery, or examine the colon and so on with endoscopic cameras, they don't find the '10 to 20 pounds of impacted fecal matter and slime' that the colon cleansers claim they need to remove to restore the body's natural balance etc..
This material just does not stick to the bowel wall - if it did it would fester and cause lethal infections etc, and evolutionarily the human species would have died out millenia ago. Flushing the alimentary canal with dozens of gallons of fresh water is actually dangerous as it can drastically affect one's electrolyte balance, which can cause shock and death, and also flush out the complex ecology of flora and fauna that exist within the gut and provide most of the means by which we digest our food. It takes some time to reestablish this balanced community of trillions of individual microorganisms until we are back to optimal digestion, so maybe the weight loss is actually caused by being unable to properly digest food for a few weeks after.
All in all, it's a bunch of hocum - real doctors dont do, or recommend this - remember real doctors are the ones who go to medical school and training for 10 years to absorb the knowledge of hundreds of years of practice and science, and don't go around claiming 'breakthrough' studies that 'the governement and the medical establishment' are trying to suppress, etc. Real doctors are the clever people, who know about the body - anyone else 'involved' in medicine is a fraud and money-grabbing quack who want to prey on your fears and take your money, whilst gambling with your health.
Don't do it.

my doctor shrugged it off when i told him about too, but there's no denying how i felt though. there's definitely a mental aspect to it during the first several days but the results even during the diet were worth it. The fact that you continue to go to the bathroom each day without eating anything sold me, and each time i did it on about day 5 i woke up and blew my nose like i had never blown before, so much mucus came out.
- VectorMasked0
I tried it and ended up visiting the doc a few times due to side effects. Was very harmful for my skin/hair.
Scam not recommended.
