Sorry, 7.34 - I missed your noteuestion up there.
A moderate hit of acid, a shroom nibble or a dollop of DMT on a morning would be my preferences for people-watching from afar. It couldn't be anything too strong, otherwise your subjects will start dripping everywhere and you'll run after them, wanting to see what the smell or taste like.
One of my best acid trips involved watching Byker in Newcastle wake up, from a high up window on the main street - with the hustle powering up and people wending their curious paths through the early morning. Magical. A bit too - we got consumed with the notion that more people would be better, so walked into Newcastle city centre - only to be confronted by a multi-thousand throng of Toon fans leaving the Stadium after a football match - hurtling along, trying to get to their respective positions in favoured pubs. A little too much black and white. A little too much contrast.
Plain ol' weed is good - especially with kids. That is, 'til societal paranoia kicks in and you start second guessing parents assumptions, fearing that your free'd childish glee and interaction has a more sinister and perverse intent.

i've done shrooms twice.
the first time i did it they were quite nice. amazing really. lasted near all day. a friend and myself ended up in the quad on campus, i think with the intent to people watch but who the fuck knows. we ended up running into a friend of his and they started chatting. after a while of this my mind started drifting and i was overcome with the sensation that everyone around me was having the same conversation. not that they were all chattering in a din, all saying the same echoed dialogue, but rather one person sat next to me said one thing and then the response came from a guy walking towards me from 30 feet away, the next people to speak were a group on my left side and then 2 students walking in the opposite direction far off to my right. it was amazing. i was hearing questions over here and hearing them answered over there. it was a symphony. beautifully orchestrated and synchronized. i just sat there for what seemed like a half hour (it was probably 5 mins) marveling at it, and how my friend had no idea what he was missing.
