I caught this show last night and really enjoyed it.
I like how Trent approached his "wave goodbye" tour: keep ticket prices crazy low; allow photography; play first. Basically, head out on his own terms, but also in a way that ensured big crowds, good blood and excellent concert memories. "Big" stars would be smart to note the logic behind this. Everyone from teenagers through mid-lifes are looking at this guy in a rosey light and mentally marking this tour as a great show.
As a guy that knows every word to every song by both bands I feel comfortable stating that the order really should have been reversed. Jane's is a stripped down, trippy band. Following up NIN where every member is introduced as "name, primary instrument, keyboards and vocals" sets up for a let down. NIN had a huge sound, which made Jane's comparatively a bit of a drop off. I appreciate Mr. Reznor's, but my judgment is better in this case. :)
Don't let my nit-picking send the wrong signal: this show was bad-ass. Highlight for me was hearing songs that have been a soundtrack of my life ("Three Days", "Then She Did...") performed by Jane's, and the hybrids of NIN songs.
On the later note, I specifically loved last night's version of "The Downward Spiral", a somewhat instrumental song dictating a slow-motion suicide. The song started with the root sample from the track, then layered the recognizable piano riff from "Closer", hinting they'd play the more popular track, then went on to play with the audience using a few more layers before tearing into the over-the-top "The Downward Spiral". Like this:
Motherfucker, that is how you do it.
- 3 days is my fav JA songfooler2
- wow...I REALLY disagree. I was underwhelmed by NIN. But I thought Jane's sounded HUGE!!!marychain
- All JA had going for them was volume. Perry kinda whine/screamed and gyrated and shit. NIN was perfect.monospaced

Just got in from the show myself. Thought both bands were pretty awesome. had some great seats:
Right in front of us we had some beardo hipster richard dreyfuss lookalike fuck and his gina davis lookalike girlfriend who was a foot taller than he was and they were doing some sorta hippie dry humping interprative dance thing through
all of JA's set. Fucking distracting as hell, and not in a good way.Thought JA's sound was kinda naf at first, but then they got it together. Great set list for Jane's as well. NIN had the killer lights, though I think their guitarist was having a bad afternoon...
And to th fuck who scrawled "UR A PENIS" on my car with the sharpie in the parking lot, fuck you.
- YOUR NEW CAR?!?! Dust for prints, buddy, vengence will be yourslocustsloth

Trent started with less energy than I had expected, but blew it up when the sun went down. Janes sounded like a shit ton of noise. My girl and I left early. The bus was full of freaks and geeks. The lights were amazing for both, but JA won the set war. I have to agree with omj on the camera guy, he was all over Navarro. My chick didn't seem to mind much.

Camera spent too much time trying to crawl up Navarro's ass when Jane's Addiction was on, show was good as long as I didn't look at the screens. NIN kicked ass.
