I got carpal tunnel during a bicycle ride across the US in 1998.
So bad that I was unable to exibit any dexterity for months. A year later I still had no control over my pinkys. I am in pain everyday.

As stated above, Wacom tablet pretty much took my pain away. Learn to use it.
- Do you use it for type setting? I do this a lot at work. Ive found it takes 3 times as long to do anything with a tablet.baseline_shift

It's seriously time to do away with antiquated mouse/keyboard combo.
- Me? Or the industry in general?baseline_shift
- the industry in general...computers have pretty much been using the same interface since the dawn of the personal computer.designbot

I had inflammation if the Ulnar nerve (cubital tunnel syndrome) and my doctor gave me an exercise to strengthen the trapezius. Basically the nerve running through the shoulder gets stretched because your traps are weak.
The exercise: Extend your arms out, so your hand is above the shoulder, and then make a circular motion (kind of like a breast stroke, but smaller).
It helped me.

3 things helped me (the doctor diagnosed it as plain old tendonitis, not carpal tunnel):
1) A wrist brace. The type that has a loop around the thumb, then goes around the wrist.
2) The wrist gel cushion thing.
3) Putting a rolled-up hoodie/towel under my elbow. The doctor said part of my problem was where the desk was hitting my elbow, so adding a little padding underneath helped, alot.
- nice i just did up a elbow cuhion and its shwing...my arm is big pimpinzman
