I always thought 30 was old until i hit it and then i realized i didn't have to worry about it no longer. i think society, the media, etc, contributes to our obsession with staying young and for some odd reason we think 30 is "over the hill".
30 is seriously awesome. one sheds a lot of the mid 20's bullshit and becomes a higher version of ones self.
every stage of life is important obviously and with it come challenges and rewards. 30 brings a sense of clarity at least imo.

I liked turning 30, it felt right.
35 hit me a bit. Just knowing 40 is the next big one is a little unnerving.

damn, you people are old.
bola de rucos!

some thoughts:
1) many athletes in their thirties are in their prime.
2) given good health and no freak accidents, you get to do this all over again, maybe two more times
3) as men get old, they become more 'sophisticated', so if you're not already married, you're maturity and success will land you some hot, young, bangable talent.win/win.

I love the mental mindset of 30, but hate that every physical task (jogging, weight training, hiking) feels like it takes twice as much effort. also, I get hangovers now
- Amicus0
I still don't get hangovers, but it does take a little longer to recover from my training sessions (karate). That being said, I'm still improving, I have more students and I'm closer than ever to my goals.
Design wise I still feel my best years are in front of me.
And, best of all, there is still much partying to be had before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

From the 'failure' thread:
What defines failure? Society dicating a certain level of financial and lifestyle goals that are completely unattainable by 90% of the world's population?
I was 35 on Sunday.
I grew up in one of the most amazing places on earth, and got to travel the region getting exposed to so many different cultures and ways of life.
After school, where I was very average, cos let's face it when you're 16 there are way more important things to be doing than wanking off to Nat Geo African Tribe specials in the corner of the library, I moved to London for Uni, where I spent 7 years playing music, making a core group of really amazing friends, and working at a great place for cool clients.
Then I got married, moved to America, and had a whole other experience for many years, culminating in adopting my son, which I consider to date my best achievement ever.
Got divorced, and decided to move back home to Hong Kong, where I am working at the best place I have ever worked, in the best city in the world.
I don't have shit money, I don't have a fancy car, and I live day to day.
But I go to work every morning with a big smile on my face, and 90% of the time I can honestly say I am happy.
I have lived a rich life, and I have the memories for it. I am more thankful for that, and for the many amazing people I have met along my travels that have taught me more about life and myself than I ever would have thought, than I would be for all the money on the world. Best of all - I appreciate each and every day that I have on this earth, and take what I can from every positive, and negative experience.
I have answers to nothing, but questions for you all.

The deeper into 30's you get the less you care about the unimportant stuff. i like it.

Been here since a week, no big deal.
If I look backward I mainly see good stuff. And if i look ahead
i keep seeing good stuff.
