So I just got a new computer and Suitcase Fusion2. For the first time ever I actually want to organize all my most used fonts into sets instead of just lumping all 4000 together.
What sub-catagories do you like to use besides the usual serif, sans serif, script, etc? Other interesting orgazational tactics appreciated.

fusion2; the green little "a" icon bottom left, is an attributes pane with many classifications to tag your fonts

btw... fusion2 rocks. good choice. best manager i've used since OS9.
all the linoX fans can start bitching about suitcase now, but they have no idea.

I try to organize by foundries, categories, and then clients.

I started doing this years ago, and it helps.
Start with the Foundry, then,Sans serif: humanist, geometric, etc...
Serif: humanist, modern, slab, etc...
Display: handwriting, grunge, etc...

SERIF:
Garalde (old style)
Venetian
Modern (Bodoni/Didone)
Transitional (Scotch Roman, Fleischman English transitional, etc.)

That's it. I can't think of any other categories that I would even think about using. I've gone through and deleted all of my grungy, wonky fonts. Haven't used any of the sort in years.
