i cannot find the article right now but i read that some scientists are planning to genetically cross cows with spiders. the milk of the chimera is supposed to be spun. the gained yarn is said to be woven to bullet-proof vests. (i can't get rid of the idea that those cowders are going to redefine the meaning of world wide web).

Ok, so this isn't quite Scary Cool (yet), and I'm sure you're familiar with examples of non-Newtonian fluids in action, but the video embedded in this page gives a really neat demonstration of the technology in a practical application.
