eh... i've been here for almost two years. there was definitely an 'adjustment period' when i got here, but i love it now, i'm going to be here for a while. i'd say visit for a few months if you can before making a decision. i had a 4 month internship, that gave me a good indication about weather or not i could hack it.

SF is great if you're trend ass wannabe hipster

The weather is nice, stays constantly at 60 degress, + or - 10. The tech industry hasn't been hit as hard as New York, but we'll see. It's slower paced than New York, so if you want more time to relax etc, then it's a good place to go. The city is small, so it's easy to see it all. On the flipside it's easier to get bored of. There's a lot of nice nature stuff north and south along the coastline.
I like fast paced and the hustle, so I'm moving back to New York.

The place is a fucking plastic pretend playground for people who can't grow up (constantly vying for attention, etc) as well as for people who want to live out a role that they've dreamed up for themselves. That's all cool, but it's actually noticeable and obvious and thusly annoying to anyone who's not like that... that's all.
- though these characteristics may be found also, in the people of several major US cities, They are certainly present in SF population (and that's what you asked about).********

sf is nice if you have a bazillion dollars. I live here. the role thing mentioned above is true, but that's what ambition is.
- give me some monies, mr. bazillionare.iCanHazQBN
- ...mmm
There might be a mis-understanding, here******** - ...I'm familiar with ambition, and I wouldn't identify what I described, as ambition...********

SF has some ugly broads. not as ugly as seattle but a close second. they never wear makeup and they always wear thick horn rimmed glasses.

the burning man crowd is very plentiful. way more than they were in Portland.

Its a nice place but it can be abit rough...i've always said it likes to kick you in the teeth for a couple of years before letting you stay.
The market out here is a bit rough right now and not at all one that i would want to jump into from somewhere else. Wait a year and see...
And yeah, it has no shortage of yahoos, bippytwats, bhenchods little bitches, shiesters etc..

Eric Burdon was impressed with it as well.

i grew up in the city. its rad. if my skillset applied to getting work up there id move back. it gets a bad rep with the masses of fixed gear hipsters these days but i dont see any real negatives except the cost of living. ive heard it is competitive for work but who wouldnt want that? ny and la are the same way, keeps your skills up. there are great restaurants of all kinds, good music venues, good art, the public transportations good too, its sort of like a new york but with the hippie element and a lot of gaps.
- fixed gear hipsters are the least of that city's problemversion3
