Freelance Graphic design SYD/MEL

  Hi does anybody know where to go about getting freelance graphic design work in either Sydney of Melbourne. Im in sydney and whilling to travel to Melbourne if needed.

  Is it difficult to get work out here in Oz?

  I've never been to australia, but I'm going to guess (as a freelancer) that it all comes down to:

  a) luck
  b) ability to network/ negotiate

  talent or location have nothing to do with being able to collect clients.

  My guess is, get some business cards and start meeting people, go to non-design conferences (conference possible clients will attend) email every design studio in town and let them know you are there, cold calls / emails may help, specially when the client/agency IS NOT LOOKING TO HIRE.
