if Eric is on bass - then its worth going!
Eric, unlike the other 3 spotlights in the band, was little recognized - yet his influence was vital to the JA sound (this is why the album "Strays" sucked)- Eric is on bass. He's played with them on their last two surprise gigs...TheBlueOne

I don't mind Strays that much. The only thing missing from that is Perry's heroin inspired lyrical madness. But you can't stay on that shit till you're in your 40s and stay alive that easily. Anything with Perry and Dave Navarro is fine by me.
- I saw them in 2003 at Jones Beach. Great show.CyBrain
- Strays was decent..was missing something though...TheBlueOne

If I was anywhere NEAR the west coast...I'd definetly go
I'm stuck in America's wang though (Florida)Original Lineup Janes Addiction is undoubtably one of the best live acts ever.
I'd say between 86-91 they were godlike
Have fun if you go!
- totally agree! godlike indeed..

I saw the original line up open up for Iggy Pop in '88.
I was in high school and didn't have any money so I snuck in the side door like I tried many times before but was never successful.
No one knew who they were so all the aging Stooges fans just stood in the bar while me and about 5-10 people stood front and center.
Dave sat on his amp the entire time in a heroin induced daze. Perry was wearing fingerless pink dishwashing gloves, a corset and welding glasses.
Best concert I've ever seen!

About a year later they were headlining their own shows so a bunch of friends and I drove all the way to Cleveland to see them with Rollins band.
We stayed at the same Holiday Inn as them and rode the elevator up with Henry. He was super mellow and very nice and chatted with all of us. After the show we bumped into Eric and Perry at the Soda and Ice machines. We invited them back to our room and told him we had some weed and some beers (hard core partying drugs for a bunch of 17 year olds) and he said he wasn't into that.- hahahaha
dude...that's pretty damn coolmarychain - Yeah..you guys weren't riding the horse or had naked asian chicks...TheBlueOne

I saw them in NYC in '89. I forget the venue. Perry was passing out bottles of wine from the stage and we bogarted one of them. They were amazing. They rocked, they arted out...they're really the only band I put up their with Zep in terms of artistic scope and power.
- Was Rollins or the Buck Pets opening that leg of the tour?fooler2
- it wasn't rollins...that much i remember...TheBlueOne

I have seen them a couple of times back in the day but it was a little blurry. Blurred by hallucinogens and the overall spectacle of what they are live. Like Blue said, a total art rock experience.
I might have to make the drive to see this one.

Saw 'em in London for 2 different tours, Brixton and the Astoria - must have been late eighties, early nineties but they were awesome both times. Annoyed me that my girl at the time had a thing for Perry Farrel though.

I them a few times in the UK - the last reunion stuff. Brixton, Forum etc... I also caught the flashmob gig in Covent Garden a few years back where they just turned up and busked. That was fucking wicked - mainly because it made all the US fans sick with envy...
Oh - caught them at Lollapalooza in Cincinnati too.

Pitchfork just put up a few vids of the show. All them emo bands should be required to watch what a real rock band looks/sounds like.
