Let's say you have 400k to invest for the long term. What's the best option out there, factoring in the volatile state of the marketplace and also getting a decent return if possible while preserving your principal investment?

For the long term, stocks. I always find it funny how people are so willing to invest when the market is overly inflated, but scared when prices are at record lows.

Prime (as prime as possible) real estate. Somewhere you would be happy to live if you lost everything else.

I would ask a financial advisor.

Various Small Angel investments in a series of tech startups. Low drag/ Highspeed is the way. That way you only need one of the many to do great to get a nice return on your total investment.

I'm being told to sit on cash. Would love to buy a flat or shares/funds, but apparently we haven't hit the bottom yet... So it's high-rate savings accounts and (short) term deposits for now.

Scratch tickets. If you played the ten dollar ones with 400k, I bet you'd hit a million dollar winner!

give it to my company.
$200K investment = $100K towards 10% equity, $100K refunded loan at preferred interest.

play roulette. bet on black or red, doesn't matter, always make the same bet and double if you lose. watch the table limit though.
