Track bikes the new fad. All you see is hipsters riding those things. Why? I'm not sure.

I love all the cries of "Hipster Scum" whenever someone mentions fixed gear bikes. If you are so insecure that you can't make up your own mind what kind of bike to ride, you probably shouldn't be on a bike at all, and instead stick to your rollerblades. At least that way you can't be accused of being a hipster.

Single Gear: For children, antique collectors or retro hipster dickheads, get a proper multi-gear bike for godsakes.
It's like saying "Oh look I bought this cel phone - from 1999! Aren't I cool!" No you're a moron.

- So I take it you're neither a child or an antique collector...TheBlueOne

The reason alot of fixed riders ride without brakes is to make their fixie dick look bigger, and also because braking surfaces look shit on nice deep rims, and also single gear or flip flop hubs look alot nicer than cassettes; they're beautiful and symmetrical.
As for the whole get a geared bike thing. Why the fuck would I want to use a geared bike in mostly flat stop start London traffic? I'd only be using 1 or 2 gears ever! I get the point of gears for TTs and would rather ride a road TT with gears but for city traffic I'd rather trackstand at the lights than fuck around getting my foot out of the pedal clips to balance myself while I wait at some of the stupidly long red lights around central London.

honestly, you sound like a bunch of morons. i've ridden fixed gear bikes for 20 years and wouldn't have it any other way. if you haven't tried it and don't understand, then shut your ignorant hole. some of us actually like to be in shape and aren't so lazy to need gears, you pansy bitches.

I haven't tried one, but I would not want to go down hill. At least a couple gears.
