Yesterday I picked up my second MBP, last one died within a week. This one has a clucter of probably 5 red pixels above the dock. Am I being a bit soft if I go and replace the machine? They are annoying the hell out of me!

Get a very soft cloth and apply light pressure to the front and hold the back of the screen at the same time. If that doesn't fix it, try getting a stuck pixel app and try that. I think 5 dead pixels is considered the right amount for a replacement but I think it might be more for stuck pixels

yeah i tried the cloth thing, can you rec any apps?

I'm not sure if this widget is any good but its an app for that purpose... you might have to leave it for a few hours before it takes effect. If not, I would ask for a replacement and don't tell them you did anything to try and fix it, they'll probably try and blame you

I love it when macs have numerous problem and flaws but no one blames apple,
when any pc have a problem, even hardware one, everyone blames microsoft,my advice go back to the mac store, knee drop the genius and pick up a third one

- how is he not blaming apple? who else could he blame?forcetwelve
- And who blames Microsoft? They don't make PCs.5timuli
- Or monitors.5timuli
- seems to me like people blame apple all the time.arthur

I'd imagine this has the same effect too...

I have to say, you're probably the most unfortunate mac owner evar

i love it when people try and forge a mac vs PC argument out of a thread.
I say take it back and demand another, and something extra for wasting your time when you could be earning money
(Apple care cover for free?)

that all issues reassure me, that I should by my MB/MBP from refurbshop
- ribit0
When I asked Apple about 'number of pixels' thing before buying, they just said "if I wasn't happy with the display, bring it back". Just talk to the right people and be polite (and insistent) and they should sort it.

The worst case scenario is that you should behave yourself as horrible cunt and make them terrified - then they will do anything to not see you or hear anything from you.
Anyway, you are consumer and you have your rights ;)

Atkinson, I hate to say it but you are the original PROBLEM CHILD.
It seems that everything you do or purchase comes equipped with a hundred faults or issues - has it always been this way?
- ********0
If it's faulty it's faulty. Take it back.
- erikjonsson0
IM SELL FISH. DOES THAT MAKE ME A PC
- Atkinson0

I love it when people think is so easy to get apple to take care of their customers, we all know the apple store looks like a women's shoe store full of pretentious smug college drop outs that always assume the client is wrong. You must be new to apple aren't you?
either that or really really old school user, that haven't bought a mac in the last 8 years..nothing personal, but Apple's customer service SUCKS MIGHTY METALLIC BAWLSS

Keep the thing, and just suffer like a grownup. Get depressed and shit, and blame it for your lack of erections and interest in the world.
- kerus0
you paid for a functional mac, return it. that is subpar QC and should be replaced.
