I've been addicted to chess recently but I'm having trouble formulating strategy until the second half of the game if I haven't already lost. Any other chess fans out there? Any good places to learn? chess.com is a mess of a website.

i had a computer game called chess master or something like that - it had traditional openings, and a shitload of video of chess-masters w/ common strategy - that would have been late 90's. The worst part about the game was when playing a computer, or one of the simulated chess masters, it would tell you how many moves until you're in check-mate - watching that number drop always pissed me off!

I love chess. I actually went and saw two games of the Viswanathan Anand v. Garry Kasparov World Championship Match that was played at the top of the World Trade Center. I got both their autographs, too.

Cool, thanks for the links! I've been playing the chess.com app for Facebook which isn't too bad to play your friends.
